Science Fair 2009 February 28, 2009
Posted by hjohnson in : News add a comment| Over the next few weeks your Science Fair teacher will be talking to you about Science Fair and helping you to get started.
Science Fair is a very important part of learning about Science and so it is compulsory for all mainstream students in Years 7-9. Older students are encouraged to participate. Students need to have a feasible idea for a Science Fair project, approved by their teacher, by the end of Term 1. For most students, coming up with a good idea is the hardest part. Have a look at the posts “Getting Started” and “Finding Ideas” in this blog to start exploring what you might do. In fact, take a good long look right through this blog - we have put all of this information together to help YOU. You will find all of these links listed under “Navigation” on the right hand side of this page…. |
Congratulations to Pip Grierson! October 11, 2008
Posted by hjohnson in : News add a commentAs many of you are aware, Pip has recently been representing New Zealand at an international science competition in Denmark, the European Contest for Young Scientists 2008. We heard just a day or so before the holidays that Pip had won a special international prize worth 5,000 Euros. A fantastic result, Pip! Your teachers and classmates were so excited.
If you want to know more, see photos or just be blown away by the quality of the work submitted, go to this website, which is the official website of the EU Contest for Young Scientists.

Posted by admin in : Setup add a commentThe Science Fair for this year will begin with your teacher issuing you with information around Week 8 of Term 1. You should try to have a good idea and workable idea before the holidays so that you can start working on your Science Fair project during the holidays. Individual teachers may set slightly different dates, but as a general rule you should aim to have your project completed, written up and ready to hand in by the end of Week 4, Term 2.
Science Fair is a great opportunity to explore something that interests you. You’ll find lots of information in this blog to help you.
