On the 18th of September, Year 12 and 13 Tourism Classes invaded Rotorua for a day of educational fun!
We made our first stop at the Agrodome. After much anticipation we split into smaller groups to experience either the swoop, agro jet or both! The Swoop took three of us at a time up 40 metres in a specially designed hang-gliders harness, one person had the job of pulling the rip-cord and we experienced the feeling of flying as we swung out across the surrounding farm-land at speeds up to 130 km/hr! We also went on the Agro jet, New Zealand’s fastest jet boat experience with an acceleration of 0-100 kph in under four seconds! The boat was professionally driven as it sped around a tight cornered purpose built race-course.

Here is a great little slideshow from Kamylle on New Zealand’s National Parks. For one of her Tourism assessments, she had to describe the activities and facilities available for tourists at four of New Zealands fourteen National Parks. Its a great piece of work, but even more remarkable as Kamylle is a french-speaking exchange student.
