World war one was such a big war because the two main countries’, Austria-hungry and Serbia, had alliances with a lot of other countries.

Armistice - a state of peace agreed to between opponents so they can discuss peace terms: In WWI, when France and Germany were fighting over Flanders Field, they stopped the fighting for one moment so they could clear their soldier’s bodies off the battlefield.
Entente - an informal alliance between countries: In WWI, countries that chose a side but didn’t want to fight made an informal alliance with their allies.
Lusitania - the Lusitania was a British ship that fought in WWI but was sunk by one german torpedo.
Propaganda - information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause: the armies would influence people to get them to donate money towards them.
Shell shock - a mental disorder caused by stress of active warfare: in WWI soldiers got shell shock from the explosions of enemy fire.
Somme - The Battle of the Somme (also known as the Somme Offensive) was a battle fought from 1st July to 18th November 1916.

A state of peace agreed to between opponents so they can discuss peace terms; so in WWI, it was important so the fighting countries over Flanders Field put a halt to the fighting so they can receive the dead soldiers bodies.
Entente-
an informal alliance between countries; so in WWI it was counties that chose a side but didn’t want to fight e.g Italy had an informal alliance to Germany but didn’t fight.

Alliance; Alliance means, the state of 2 countries coming together and becoming friends and stopping the war. This would be good in the war because some of the countries could become friends and stop the fighting.

In World War 1 the Americans, Russians, Indians, New Zealanders, British, Australian, South African, Canadian and Japanese all were allied or in an alliance against the Central power.
Armistice: An armistice is a situation in a war where the warring parties agree to stop fighting. In the world war 1 the central powers and the allied made an armistice to stop fighting in no mans land so each side could go out and retrieve there dead to give them a proper burial
Entente: The terms the Entente, The Triple Entente, The Entente powers, and The Entente Forces also referred to the Allies of World War 1, that is, powers opposed to the Central Powers in World War 1.
