25 06 2009

Yeeha! Its assessment time again folks. Actually, you might really enjoy this one. There are some amazing plans for our number one tourist destination. Before we get into the resources for this contemporary geographic issue, there is a bit of ground work we need to cover first. Below is a link to the Achievement Standard on the NZQA website. This is the document that tells us what is required for students to gain these credits. Look at it closely and feel free to ask me any questions about it. I will let you know if “I can’t answer that”.

$1000 Note Research Project

18 06 2009

Hi Class, Here is a copy of the instructions for the $1000 Note Research Project. I have been impressed with the wide range of prominent New Zealanders you are studying. There is a great mix of sportspeople, politicians, artists, innovators, social changers and more. Remember the tips at the bottom of the instructions to get the higher marks. If you are investigating a contemporary New Zealander perhaps you could try finding their email address and contacting them directly.

Your Task is to create a diary entry or entries that describe what the journey for slaves was like. You can write from the perspective of anyone on the trip. Here is a starting sentence that you can use if you like:

18 August 1837 - If you are reading this I am probably already dead, for today I will take back my dignity.

Check out some examples from other Katikati College Y10 students.
