There are many types of computer storage, some of these are a register which has a specific address and holds specific information. A scratchpad which has a high speed internal used to hold memory in the computer and can only be stored there for a short period of time. Voatile storage which is gone as soon as you turn the computer off. Real storage which is the main memory in a virtual memory system. Non-volatile storage which is still stored in the computer when it is turned off.
